4B Milli-Speed™ Switch – 4–20 mA Inductive Speed Sensor

The Milli-Speed™ is a sealed inductive speed switch with a linear 4–20 mA output, built to detect belt slip, underspeed, stop-motion, low-speed, or zero-speed conditions on bucket elevators, conveyors, airlocks, mixers, fans, grinders, and other rotating equipment. Rugged and simple to calibrate, it performs reliably in the harshest conditions.

An analog inductive sensor in the nose of the enclosure detects a metal target — an existing bolt head or a device mounted to the shaft, such as 4B's Whirligig® sensor mount. The Milli-Speed operates over a 20–3,600 PPM range and is set to normal running speed by simple magnetic calibration (17 mA); output rises toward 20 mA above normal speed and falls toward 4 mA as speed drops.
